ADC Lights Up Kogi East, Flags Off Campaigns for 2019 Elections

Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kogi state chapter, Bashir Ibrahim Ellah has described the Kogi East campaign flag-off as the beginning of total liberation for the people of the state.

Bashir made this known while speaking with journalist during the campaign flag-off at Maryland primary school, Anyigba on Saturday.

He stated that the overwhelming turnout of supporters at the event shows the people are tired of the APC-led government in Kogi state.

“The massive turnout by the electorate shows the love they have our party. This is the beginning of total liberation for the people of Kogi State.

“Our people are tired of the failed APC government in Kogi state. ADC is the way to go and the electorate know this. You can see the show of strong resolve, unity and cohesion in the party as all the key ADC leaders across the state, the National Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Secretary and members of state executives are here.

“ADC is the party to beat in Kogi state and we are genuinely committed to deliver dividends of democracy to the people,” he said.

The state chairman of the party, Comrade Dan Isah trekked through five kilometers from his residence to the venue of the campaign flag off amid cheers from supporters. He later joined by Hon. Samson Positive Ihiabe and teeming supporter.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at the event, Comrade Isah reminded the good people of Kogi East how himself and the former Governor, late Prince Abubakar Audu promised the people of good governance at all levels.

“At this same place, a few years ago before the demise of our leader, Prince Abubakar Audu, we promised the people prompt payment of salaries, security of properties and lives, good roads, access to quality education, human and infrastructural development in the state, but as we all know the reverse is the case due to the demise of our hero.

“Today, being 1st December, marks the beginning of victory of light over darkness. It marks the beginning of struggle which will bring all our candidates to total victory come February and March respectively. We did it before and we are going to do it again, even better than before,” he assured.

The National Chairman of ADC, Chief Ralph Nwosu, while addressing the crowd, encouraged the people to be steadfast.

He revealed how leaders of the APC and PDP made several attempt to replace the Kogi East ADC senate candidate, Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji.

“With the crowd I am seeing here today, I believe the people of Kogi State have resolved to vote for ADC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

“We promise you, the party shall not fail the trust repose in us. A vote for ADC is a vote to secure our future from failed governance.”

The national chairman present the party flags officially to Dr. Victor Adoji, Hon. Samson Ohiabe Positive, Hon. Hassan Atayioma Omale, Hon. Ismaila Atumeyi, Dr Aliyu Arome Abubakar Audu and other candidates of the party in the state.
