The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has firmly distanced itself from an alleged collaborative meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the development as misleading and unrepresentative of the party’s position.

Speaking on Thursday’s 1 pm news bulletin on TVC News Nigeria, the Acting National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bashiru Abdul Mohammed, dismissed the claims and reaffirmed that the ADC has no alliance or coalition arrangement with the PDP.

He stressed that the party remains committed to charting an independent political course and will field its own presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections, subject to the final judgment of a pending suit before the Federal High Court of Nigeria, filed on September 2, 2025.

Mohammed further alleged that individuals seen at the purported meeting were not representatives of the ADC but members of a separate coalition group acting in their personal capacities. He accused the group, reportedly led by David Mark, of pursuing private political interests.

According to him, “Those seen in that purported meeting with the PDP are desperate and deviant political actors who are not members of the ADC but part of a coalition group advancing their personal agenda.”

The ADC spokesperson maintained that the party remains focused on internal consolidation and strengthening its structures ahead of the 2027 elections, while awaiting judicial clarity on its leadership matters.
