Acting Chief Imam of Lokoja Urges Muslims to Emulate Teachings of Prophet Muhammad

The Acting Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaaba has urged Muslims to emulate the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad as they celebrate the Eid-el-Maulud festival.
The Acting Chief Imam made the called at the 22rd Maulid Nabiyi organized by Madaratul-Nurul Mubeen, Unguwar Fawa, Lokoja.
Shaaba also called on all Muslims to use the opportunity of the Holy Prophet’s  birthday to reflect on the teachings of the Prophet who lived a life of piety, prayer and service to God and humanity.
He urged the adherents of the Islamic faith to rededicate themselves to upholding the injunctions of the Holy Quran in their personal lives and in their relationship with others.
On his part, Chairman Board of Governors of the Madarasat, Malam Abubakar Tale also urged Muslims to emulate Prophet Muhammad’s shining virtues of compassion, tolerance and commitment to peace.
Abubakar reminded his fellow Muslims that the greatest honour they could do to Muhammad was to practise his positive examples.
He explained that the school which is celebrating the 22rd annual Maulid has produced over three hundred  graduates: “over 300 student graduated from this Madarasat, since I assumed the chairmanship position of this school”.
He said the Maulud celebration should be an occasion for sober reflection and a reminder “of our duty to be good ambassadors of Islam.
As Muslims observe the occasion, the Chairman advised them to rededicate ourselves to the noble virtues and exemplary life Prophet Muhammad.
Also, the principal of the Madarasat, Malam Ibrahim Yaro Na Malam Tanko,enjoined Muslims, especially Youths  to imbibe the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and strive to live with one another in peace and harmony.
He said just like the birth of the Prophet in Mecca ushered in a new dawn for humanity, Nigerians should view the occasion of this year’s Maulud Nabiyyi as an opportunity for a new beginning for the country.
“I believe that we will make progress towards the realisation of our shared vision of a strong, united and prosperous nation if our people imbibe the prophet’s virtues of peace, tolerance, honesty, selflessness, sincerity, justice, equity and peaceful co-existence.”he said.
The occasion was attended by Khalifa Soje Babadoko, Sarkin Zakirai of Kogi State, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Yabagi, Shehi Malam Baba Tunde, Islamic clerics and a host of others.
