Abocho Indigenes Harps on Collective Efforts for Community Development

Abocho sons and daughters at home and in diaspora have been urged to play positive roles towards the advancement of the area.

Vice Chairperson, Lokoja branch of Abocho Development Association, Mrs Justina Benjamin gave the charge at the end of year get together on Sunday.

Mrs Benjamin said the task of moving Abocho forward required collective efforts, noting that everyone should be involved in the development process of the community.

The Vice Chairperson expressed appreciation to members for their commitment in the outgoing year, adding that there was need to do more in the coming year.

“I want to implore you all to be up and doing in the task of developing our community, wherever you stay is not a barrier, and so, we thank God for all he has done for us this year. We must all contribute to the growth of our land, Abocho.”

Also speaking, the immediate past Chairman, Mallam Sumaila Sani said commitment and resilience should be the watchword despite some challenges.

Mallam Sumaila commended the founding fathers of the Association, saying the set objectives could only be attained through collective zeal and determination.

Others in their remarks, including Mr Emmanuel Aye, Kassim Sule, Joy Etubi, Idris Ahmed, Fatima Saba and Mutari Shaibu all described the year as very successful, but urged members to be more prayerful in the coming year.

Highlight of the event was special prayer for the government and Abocho community.
