A political mobilizer from Kogi West, Hon. Jaiyeola Awojuola Jasper has called for a review of the abandoned electrification project in Iyara, Ijumu local government area of Kogi State.
In a chat with newsmen in Lokoja, Jasper alleged that funds released for the project was diverted by a company connected to Senator Smart Adeyemi.
He wondered why Smart Adeyemi will swindle his own people.
He called on the leadership of National Assembly and Federal Government to look into the contract award and order contractors back to site.
“Federal government should order the former Senator back to site to complete the abandoned projects. We have discovered that Senator Smart Adeyemi did not complete many of the projects meant for his people and constituency,” he said.
Jasper stated that he has enough evidence to prove his claims and wondered why Smart Adeyemi is synonymous to abandoned projects.
He reiterated his calls on electorates to join hands and put paid to Smart Adeyemi’s re-election into the senate.
Reacting to the allegations, a close associate of Adeyemi and former chairman of Ijumu local government area, Hon. Fehinti Dada described the claims as false. He said the former senator served his people diligently and deserve to be re-elected.
