The Ohimegye Igu Kingdom, HRM, Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu, on Thursday, inspected the ongoing remodeling and restructuring of the Ohimegye Koton Karfe Palace.
He expressed appreciation for the quality of work the Kogi state government is carrying out on the palace.
The monarch thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for giving the project the needed priority through the timely release of resources.
He also commended the commitment of the contractor, and expressed optimism that the pace of work would be expedited to enable the project to be completed soon, particularly now that the rains have set in.
“I must appreciate the state government for the deployment of resources that has enabled the quality of work on the Palace to show forth. This is commendable and deserves commendation.
“My sincere thanks to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo. He has once again proven that he places value in the comfort and well-being of the traditional rulers and institution in the state.
“Looking at the pace and quality of work, I cannot but thank the contractor and the engineer for doing a good job. The standard of work is excellent.
“I, however, want to appeal to the state government if the pace of work can be speedy, particularly that the rains is about setting in at it peak. I will be most grateful, as this will enable the early completion and enable the usage of the Palace for the use of the Kingdom,” he said.
The Ohimegye praised the present administration for making the welfare of the civil servants as well as provision of infrastructure across the State a top priority, urged the people to support and cooperate with the administration.
