What Does Firstmade Foundation Stand For?

Firstmade Foundation, a non-profit organization, created for service to humanity and social responsibility towards human development to uplift our communities, creating self responsibility of our youths, especially in Okunland.

The organisation’s objectives include providing relief to vulnerable population (e.g poverty, disaster and illness); to promote Education, Healthcare, Sports and Social Welfare; to promote community development and economic growth and enhanced quality of life for marginalized groups.

Firstmade Foundation aims to alleviate suffering and improve the well-being of the people, especially in okunland; facilitate access to essential services such as healthcare, education and sports; building partnerships and collaborations for greater impact in the region.

Although Firstmade Foundation is a household name in Yagba West and Okunland, the identity of the founder has been largely unfamiliar. This is due to the founder’s preference for a low profile. Modest, humble, and doesn’t seek or draw attention to himself, Femi Olusanya has been the brain behind the foundation whose activities of touching lives date back to one decade. Philanthropic activities of Firstmade Foundation range from educational support for the less privileged and giving to widows. The Foundation’s latest sporting activities birthed with the launch of an annual marathon race.

Notably, on December 24 2024—Christmas Eve—Firstmade Foundation, brainchild of Femi Olusanya organized a marathon race in Yagba West Local Government Area, Kogi State aimed at motivating citizens to promote tourism, unity and improve their physical well-being through sport.

The event, which coincided with the Yuletide season, brought together hundreds of citizens of Yagba West in a 15 kilometre marathon race.

The marathon race was flagged off at the Royal Place Hotel along Egbe-Odo-Ere federal road, and ended at Alaya junction, Egbe.

Tagged “The Inaugural Egbe Mekun Marathon”, the race attracted hundreds of participants across the constituency and beyond, including undergraduates, professionals and secondary school students.
In a media statement, the foundation said the marathon race was also an opportunity to promote youth engagement, and a deeper appreciation of Okunland’s stunning landscapes and talents.
Femi Olusanya, Firstmade Foundation’s founder and sponsor of the marathon race, said he hoped the event would inspire youth development and community connection in the constituency and across Kogi State as a whole.

“This marathon is more than a race; it is a platform to bring our communities together, strengthen bonds, and promote health,” Olusanya said.

A longstanding advocate for the betterment of Yagba West and Okunland, Femi Olusanya noted that the marathon race was an opportunity for participants to experience the beauty of the region and the warmth of the people.

Speaking further, he expressed optimism that the marathon race would become a launch pad for future marathon champions in the state and across Nigeria.

After the keenly contested race, the first four male winners were; Abolaji Joshua, Abiodun Sunday, Theophilus Ologun and Babatunde Wonderful, while they first four female were; Francis Mary, Aro Favour, Sunday Boluwatife and Olatunji Elizabeth.

The winners took different cash prize, plaques, while there were also various consolation awards for the top three finishers.

In recognition of its outstanding contribution to sports development in Titcombe College, Egbe (Olusanya’s Alma Mater) and Egbe Community at large, Firstmade Foundation was the recipient of the prestigious “Ambassador of Sports Award” at the 2025 Inter-House Athletics Competition of the institution.

Meanwhile, preparations have commenced in earnest ahead of this year’s edition of the annual marathon race, expected to hold in December 2025.
