Ahead of 2027 general elections, Collation of All youth groups in Ward 4 area of Yagba East council area of Kogi State last weekend converged to harmonize their interest, appealing to the member representing the Federal Constituency , Elder Leke Abejide to return to the ruling party, APC.
The youths group who made the appeal on Sunday during a walk, also passed a vote of confidence on the lawmaker, stating that his performance on and off the floor of national assembly has been superlative.
The group spokesperson, Hon. Timothy Folusho said, “We, the young minds of Ward 4 in Yagba Wast council area has watched with keen interest the political trends in Yagba federal constituency and has decided to join our voices to the increasing call on our unprecedented representative, Elder Leke Abejide to move to the APC.
“Leadership and representation is a serious business. It is the point where the interests of the people rest on, and in the face of this political realities in Kogi State and in Yagba Federal Constituency especially, the reasons for a common concerns cannot be pushed aside.
“We have observe the position of our representative at the House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide, and confidently pass a vote of confidence on him in view of his outstanding performance both on the floor and outside the National Assembly.
“His impactful empowerment schemes – notably the free-interest loan given to women across Yagba Fed constituency is highly commendable.
“The construction of Igbagun to Isanlu, Makutu Road among other roads project is highly timely, coupled with the roads rehabilitation and reconstruction he personally sponsored. We are also aware -of -the State of -art ICT Facility.
“The food and clothings materials he intermittently provided for his constituents; the working tools and equipment for artisans, the seedlings, farm tools and fertilizer he distributed to farmers, and the donation of SUVs and cars for Royal fathers speaks volume of his achievement.
“But importantly, we have noticed his growing political acceptability at the national level, which have prompted a growing concerns from political friends and associates and political actors at the top echelon for him to move to the ruling party, APC. And as young minds, we aligned ourselves with this political thoughts as we believe it will benefit us more if he is in the ruling party.
“Elder Leke Abejide has become a prominent political figure, not only in Kogi State, but in Nigeria as a whole, who identifies with the interest of the people, even on a self sponsored party. If he could perform this credibly in an opposition party, we are certain that his performance will triple if he moves to the ruling party. Moreover, Elder Leke Abejide was a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he only left to ADC, it will not be out of point if he returns to the House he helped built.
“No doubt, his ability to maintain a cordial relationship with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has helped him to deliver dividends of democracy to his constituents and constituency, but the time is now for him to return home fully.
“His presence in APC will help boost his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, and become a rally point for Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo.
“In view of the little mentioned achievements, his rising political profile, cordial relationship with President Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Usman Ododo we do here by recommend that he move back to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), where we believe he will be able to serve the people better.
“We make it a point of note, that we are doing this in the collective interest of Yagba people, so that we can be strategically positioned for political opportunities in the nearest future.”
