UTME: Principal Celebrates as 13 Students of Demonstration Standard College Onyukoko Scores Above 300

Principal of Demonstration Standard College Onyukoko, in Okene, Kogi State, Comrade Isah Rufai Otuoze, has expressed joy over the performance of his students that sat for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Speaking with Kogi Reports on Saturday, Comrade Isah said in spite of reports that out of the candidates who wrote the JAMB this year about 75 percent nationwide scored below 200, the great Demonstration Standard College Onyukoko Okene, in its usual output, produced 13 students who scored above 300.

The principal stated that about 60 of the students scored close to 300, adding that majority of these students are from the less privileged homes that cannot “sunẹ́ hú íní èpè”.

“An Ebira sage said that when you see an insect dancing on water, there’s a drummer beneath the water whose rhythm it’s dancing to. This goes to retrospect the good governance of His Excellency Governor of Kogi State, Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo,” he said.

He praised the efficiency of the teachers of the college and expressed gratitude to the State Commissioner of Education, Hon. Wemi Jones; the SUBEB Chairman, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammed; Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Hon. Abdullah Abdul Malik; Okene Education Secretary, Hon. Zubair Abdulrahman Abanika and the Ohi of Okene, HRH Alhaji Isah Mamman for their moral and financial contributions.

He dedicated the outstanding performance of the college to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and promised that the college will continue to make Kogi state proud.
