Kogi CP, AIG Zone 8 Strengthens Collaboration With Traditional Institutions, Visits Ohinoyi of Ebira Land

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, has described the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, Alhaji Tijani Anaje, as a leader of great integrity, humility, and wisdom and, acknowledged his efforts in fostering peace, unity, and youth development in the region.

CP Miller made this known when in he paid the monarch a courtesy visit in Okene, in company of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 8, AIG Abubakar Zubairu.

The visit was part of ongoing efforts by the Kogi State Police Command to foster a stronger relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and traditional institutions in order to enhance security, promote peace, and prevent potential threats within the state.

It also served as an opportunity for the Commissioner of Police to officially introduce himself and the AIG to the revered monarch while seeking his royal blessings for a successful tenure in the State.

CP Miller commended the monarch for his proactive leadership in addressing security challenges within Egbira Kingdom particularly his swift intervention in preventing a planned protest by some Ebira youths. The CP noted that such timely actions by His Royal Majesty played a crucial role in ensuring peace and order, adding that security is a collective responsibility that requires collaboration between the Police and the community.

The CP further emphasized that his visit was not merely a courtesy call but also a step toward strengthening ties with traditional institutions as key stakeholders in security management.

While introducing the AIG Abubakar Zuberu, psc (+) to the Royal Father, the Commissioner of Police described the AIG as a father figure and mentor whose guidance has been instrumental in shaping his approach to Policing. He highlighted the AIG’s extensive experience and unwavering commitment to upholding law and order, expressing confidence that under their leadership, the safety and security of Kogi State will be further enhanced.

He reassured the Ohinoyi of the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and stability, stating that the command remains proactive in tackling crime, preventing unrest, and strengthening Community Policing efforts. He urged the monarch and other traditional leaders to continue working closely with security agencies by providing intelligence and sensitizing their subjects on the importance of law and order.

In his response, His Royal Majesty, the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, warmly welcomed the CP and AIG to his palace, expressing profound gratitude for their visit. He commended their commitment to ensuring the security and safety of life and property in Kogi State and assured them of his continued support.

The revered monarch described the visit as a significant event that demonstrates the Police’s level of commitment to engaging with local leaders to foster peace and security. He acknowledged the challenges of Policing in a dynamic society and urged officers to remain professional, just, and fair in their dealings with citizens.
