Ijalu Community is a distinct community from Okoa; the village where Chief Adedoyin Bolaji emanated from. It is a known fact that Ijalu is an Integra part of Egbe under the headship of the Elegbe of Egbe HRH OBA AYODELE IRUKERA. Ijalu community is not under Chief Adedoyin Bolaji who has for many years elevated himself to a rulership status in Egbe under undue interference into all manners of affairs in the community without iota of regards for the constituted paramount authority of Egbe ( The Elegbe of Egbe). All these he does, not for the interest of unity and development of Egbe but for self aggrandizement.
Just recently but not too late, Egbe was back to her right track; experiencing all forms of development, peace and unity as it usually was before Chief Adedoyin Bolaji came onboard. All the recent developments and restructuring that formed the bases for communal commitments in the community did not pass through the nefarious desk of Chief Adedoyin Bolaji (the reason for his uproar). This could not have been possible if not for the undaunted and outstanding commitment of our Royal Father; HRH OBA AYODELE IRUKERA and the support of Senator Sunday Karimi and a host of sons and daughters of Egbe Mekun home and abroad.

Responding to Chief Adedoyin Bolaji’s publication titled: “Save Our Soul”, Monarchs Plead With Gov. Ododo to Prevail on Sen. Karimi

Of course, from hindsight, it is inconsequential; a show of shame and ignorance that does not demand our response. But public notions must be corrected. Sen Sunday Karimi is not from Ijalu community, and to this backdrop, we do not need him in any form in defending our full and unquestionable right. Our earnest prayer is for him to succeed in the gigantic task ahead of him as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria than bringing to his desk traditional matters that are ephemeral and can be resolved on a round table. Senator Karimi that we know has been accepting the stones thrown at him as a leader, but this particular allegation by Chief Adedoyin Bolaji is a criminal allegation that must be challenged.

At 72 years plus when he should enjoy his old age, when his counterparts are lobbying for national values, (ministerial, ambassadorial and boards of agencies) in order to better their community, he is here in Egbe feasting on the fortune of the community and glorifying his adulterated and vitiated historical mediocrity. He perambulates courts with his equals, everyday restlessly and shamelessly in royal attire on matters that concern and do not concern them. Matters that our unlearned fathers settled at home without rancour. We ask: What exactly is his goal? What story is he going to relate to our gone fathers later? Can’t he make peace for once? Who are his advisers? Is he really abreast of public opinion about him? A good name is better than silver and gold. When truth is lost in a commoner, is it not to be found in the house of an Elder Stateman?

Going back to the subject matter, We are sending a caution to him and his cohorts again from Ijalu to stop inciting war in our community, they should stop painting Egbe black to the public, they should mind their boundaries and let there be peace in our community. Chief Adedoyin Bolaji’s interference in Ijalu matter is “absolutely unwarranted” as he “cannot superintend over our community the way he does for other communities. He should go and remove the log pushed into his eyes in OKOA before seeking to remove the speck from ours. IGHARE OF IJALU is a graded stool and it remains the affair of Ijalu people and Kogi State government. Chief Sunday Steve Olayemi Oluokun has been duly elected as IGHARE OF IJALU at YAGBA WEST TRADITIONAL COUNCIL– a resolution he was privileged to be a part to. Olokun and Daodu are brothers, he should stop building a wall of enemty between them for his insatiable desires.

Finally, we beseech our Royal Father; the Elegbe of Egbe to come to our aid in Ijalu by dashing out directives that will nail every individual to their respective community and desist from meddling into the affairs of other community.

Signed:

  1. Chief Babalola Femi (Ologun of Ijalu)
  2. Chief Abayomi Oju (Agbana of Ijalu)
  3. Hon. Marcus Daodu ( Ijalu Ward Head)
  4. Elder Korede David Igunnu (Ijalu Ward Head)
  5. Chief Babatunde Owa (Kota of Ijalu )
  6. Elder Abayomi Ajayi Oga (Ward Elder) For:IJALU ELDERS
