He urged the military operatives to make adequate use of the facilities provided to serve as a deterrence to these criminals and restore peace and security in the communities in Kogi and Kwara States.

Speaking at the event, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, who was represented by the Ground Officer Commanding 2 Division, of the Nigerian Army, Major General, Obinna Onubogu applauded the initiative of constructing the FOB saying the facility would no doubt enhance security operations in Egbe town and other border communities between Kogi and Kwara States.

Also speaking, the governor of the State, Usman Ododo, represented by his Special Adviser on Security, Commander Jerry Omadara (retd), said the base would enable the Army to have the security of the area under its control.

He applauded Senator Sunday Karimi for this wonderful initiative in the fulfillment of his constituency responsibility stating that the establishment of this Forward Operating Base will form a chain of influx into Kogi State, providing the needed safety for the people, and also allow the Nigerian Army to take firm control of the security of this area, including Yagba East and beyond.
