EFCC Allows Former Governor Yahaya Bello Leave Commission Office Without Interrogation

A former Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, left the Abuja headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) without being interrogated by the anti -graft agency.

Earlier today, we reported the voluntary visit of the former Governor to EFCC office to honour the Commission’s invitation.

However, Bello, left the premises after waiting for several hours without being interrogated by the EFCC.

Ohiare Michael, his Director of media, confirmed the development in an update.

“We don’t know what this means yet. As we write, HE Alhaji Yahaya Bello has left the EFCC office,” he said.

The statement said the former governor was accompanied to the EFCC office by many persons, including the incumbent Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo.

The statement said the former Governor decided to honour the invitation to clear his name as he has nothing to hide and nothing to fear.

Meanwhile, the EFCC in a statement was silent on the visit by Bello to its office.

The statement signed by Dele Oyewale, Head, Media and Publicity of EFCC, said ”media reports today that a former Governor of Kogi State, Mr. Yahaya Bello is in the holding facility of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is incorrect.

“The Commission wishes to state that Bello is not in its custody.”
