NG-CARES Programmes: Communities, Groups in Lokoja-Kogi Federal Constituency Hails Gov Ododo

….Over 18,000 persons set to benefit from micro-projects.

The people of Aseni community in Kogi local government area of Kogi state has commended the Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for bringing and distributing dividends of democracy to rural communities in the state as part of the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES programme).

The Ona of Aseni and the paramount chief in the area, HRH Muhammed Yakubu, gave the commendation at the flag of the implementation of rural micro-projects in Aseni Community (Kogi LGA), Emu Community (Lokoja LGA) and Tuturu community in Girinya area of Kogi LGA.

Governor Ododo, in a message at the flag off ceremony for the implementation of micro community and group micro projects, urged rural communities and vulnerable group to always support the policy and programmes of his administration in reducing shock as a result of the economic challenges of the country.

The Governor, represented by Asiwaju Asiru Idris, the Chairman of the State Cares Steering Committee and Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, assured the rural communities in Kogi state of the commitment of his government to the development of both urban and rural areas of Kogi state towards economic resilience and poverty reduction.

The General Manager of Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA), Chief Dauda Momoh, the basic services implementing unit in the NG-CARES Programmes in Kogi state, in his welcome address, pride the Governor as ‘God Sent’ to Kogi state to further ensure rapid development particularly, the rural population.

He stated the over 18,000 people are programmed to benefit in the two and one group whose project are being flag off namely; clinic renovation, well construction and science laboratory for Aseni Community; clinic renovation and motorised borehole and clinic upgrade and water reticulation for IhigebaOnro Bihu in Tuturu community in Girinya area of Kogi State.

According to the General Manager, over 18,000 persons area proposed to benefit from micro-projects in the six locations of the of the micro projects in the two communities and one group.

The projects are part of the NG-CARES programme recently flagged off by the government of Kogi state.

In Emu-Oworo community in Lokoja LGA, one of the community leaders, Pa. Ade Alenmi and also the Obaro of Emu-Oworo, HRH Jeremiah Ajinde Meseru, commended Governor Ododo for creating a platform for all the community to benefit from his government which they described as peoples government.
