Youths from Lokoja/Kogi(Koton-Karfe) Federal Constituency have formally declared support for Hon. Muyi Fatosa for the Kogi West Senatorial seat in 2027, describing him as the “voice of the new generation” that the district needs.
The endorsement was made during a well-attended stakeholders’ meeting in Lokoja at the weekend.
The coalition, comprising youth leaders, student unions, and grassroots mobilizers from the two local government areas, said after months of consultations, Fatosa emerged as the most credible candidate to address unemployment, insecurity and poor representation in Kogi West.
“We are tired of recycled politics. Muyi Fatosa has shown capacity, vision and a genuine commitment to the youths,” the coalition spokesperson said. “That is why we are planning a massive endorsement rally to mobilize thousands of young voters across Lokoja and Kogi (Koton-Karfe).”
Fatosa Unveils Youth Agenda
Fatosa, who is contesting on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, used the meeting to unveil his legislative agenda.
Key among them is the plan to establish Innovation and Creative Hubs in all 7 LGAs of Kogi West to deliver AI training, ICT labs, media studios, and start-up support for young entrepreneurs.
He said the hubs will directly tackle youth unemployment and position Kogi West to benefit from the digital economy.
In a major political statement, Fatosa also called on Nigerians to rally support for the Obi/Kwankwoso presidential ticket ahead of 2027.
According to him, the country is currently in a deep quagmire under the Tinubu administration, with rising poverty, inflation and insecurity.
“The country cannot continue on this trajectory. We need a leadership that understands the economy, that understands the people, and that has the political will to change things,” Fatosa said.
“The Obi/Kwankwoso ticket has the ingredients, the competence and the national reach to dovetail Nigeria out of this quagmire. It is the combination that can truly rescue this nation and give young people hope again.”
He urged youth groups across the country to begin grassroots mobilization now, stressing that 2027 must be about competence over party affiliation.
The Lokoja, Kogi/Koton-Karfe youth leaders pledged to take Fatosa’s message to every ward and polling unit. “This is beyond senate. It is about rescuing Nigeria. We will work for Muyi Fatosa in Kogi West and rally support for Obi/Kwankwoso at the national level,” they declared.
The group called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), political parties and security agencies to ensure a credible process in 2027, and urged party leaders to avoid imposition.
