The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has urged its members who are interested in running for Local Government council elections to brace up and prepare for the polls.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Chief Dayo Akande and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday, the party noted that it is within the rights of every citizen who have met the requirements as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to exercise his or her fundamental rights.
The party said that expression of interest forms and nomination forms for the forthcoming council elections will be on sale from August 7, 2024 and closes on Monday, August 12, 2023.
All interested persons are required to obtain their expression of interest and nomination forms from the party State secretariat in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The breakdown of the forms are as follows;
Chairman:
- Expression of interest = N50,000 only
- Nomination form = N200,000 only
For the councilors;
- Expression of interest form = N50,000 only
- Nomination form = N100,000 only
