Kogi NMA Visit Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, Mobilizes for Medical Outreach

All is now set for a successful medical outreach in Okene, Kogi Central Senatorial District as the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Kogi State branch Committee of Past Chairmen paid courtesy visit to the Ohinoyi of Ebira land for a successful programme.

During the courtesy visit to the Ohinoyi of Ebira land at the palace, the Committee of Past Chairmen, led by its Chairman, Dr David Aimila, intimated the respected Monarch of the medical outreach adding that it has medical, surgical, opthalmology, gynaecology and radiological components.

Dr Aimila stated that the content of the outreach includes regular medical consultation/clinic, Surgery day cases, Ophthalmological surgeries.

This he noted will include cataract, pterygium, and chalazion. According to him, refractive errors/ presbyopia will be addressed with free eye glasses.

Other components of the outreach the medical expert listed were Minimal Access Gynaecological Surgery including Diagnostic Laparoscopy and dye test and Diagnostic hysteroscopy, adhesiolysis, and polypectomy, and free scanning for pregnant women.

He added that those who are supporting the outreach to succeed includes Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Kogi Eye Care program, DAFMO foundation, Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Kogi State branch, Nigeria Optometry Association, MDR- Lighthouse Medical Eye and Laser Center, and Ebira Doctors forum.

Dr Aimila stressed that the outreach is between 7-8th August 2024 at the Reference Hospital Okene at 10am each day.

He used the opportunity to invite the Ohinoyi of Ebira land for the flag off ceremony. He intimated the traditional ruler that there will a small team in the palace to do medical consultation.

In his remarks, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Dr. Ahmed Tijani Anaje thanked the medical doctors for the laudable program in Okene promising to give them all the maximum support through out the exercise.
