The Transition Caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, has expressed his determination to continue to implement town planning policies that will improve the living conditions citizens of the Local Government.
The caretaker Chairman made the promise when he received the Director General Urban and Regional Planning, Kogi State Bureau of Land and Urban Development, Mrs Aniki A.I in his office today, with a delegation from Iluagba and Ayetoro Gbede communities.
Alhaji Haruna who bemoaned the level of unplanned development in Iluagba as well as the abuse of various plans by citizens, said the government will continue to to enforce all town planning laws and regulations to ensure public safety, orderliness and aesthetics is achieved for the good of the people.
Earlier, the Director, Mrs Ani Ai, said the absence of planning has caused serious problems to the society resulting in disruptions, outbreak of diseases, insecurity and other challenges, pledging the support and collaboration of the organization.
She promised to work with the Caretaker Chairman and take the message of proper planning and adherence to building code and approval to the localities.
Others at the meeting were: Zonal Land Officer, Mr. Inutorise Folusho; Oba of Iluagba, HRH Oba David Samuel; representative from Ayetoro Gbede community; Chief of Staff to the Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Henry Sunday Ibiyeye and others.
