2023 Ayegunle Gbede Day Holds December 26

Ayegunle Gbede Descendants Union (AGDU) has officially announced the date for this year’s edition of Ayegunle Gbede Day.

A press release signed by Yusuf Adeyanju Yisau, National Public Relations Officer of AGDU, said this year’s edition of the annual celebration will hold on the 26th of December at Model Primary School, Ayegunle Gbede, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, at 10:00 A.M. prompt.

According to Yisau, the cultural and historic event will be graced by Hon. Salman Idris, member, House of Representatives, representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency as the chairman of the occasion. Hon. Funsho Ekundayo Olumoko, Kogi West APC stalwart will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.

Hon. Ismail Adesayo Yahaya, Commissioner for Special Duties, Kogi State, will assume the role of Chief Launcher, supported by Hon. (Dr.) Ahmad Abdullahi Jebe, Special Adviser on Islamic Matters to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State; Hon. Oladele John Nihi, Senior Special Assistant on Communication to Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello of Kogi State; Chief Babayemi Olorunfemi, Atunwase of Ipaja Kingdom, Lagos State; Alhaji Hudu Ahmed Abdulsalam, and Arch. Bashir Sadiq who will serve as Co-Launchers.

Chief (Dr.) Femi Sammy Ajisafe and Mrs. Elizabeth Ogunyomi have been appointed as the Father of the Day and Mother of the Day respectively while Oba Segun Mehunro, Regent of Ayegunle Gbede will grace the occasion as the Royal Father of the Day.

The invited guest speaker for this cultural and historic event is Prof. Johnson Juwon Orugun of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba. Surv. Israel Ibigbemi Eletta, Director-General of Ayegunle Gbede Day 2023 and Hajia Kudirat Malik-Abdulmajeed, Deputy Director-General of Ayegunle Gbede Day 2023 will host the event, with Ahmed-Ade Fatai, National President of Ayegunle Gbede Descendants Union serving as the Chief Host.

The significant aspect of Ayegunle Gbede Day 2023 will be the fundraising drive aimed at generating five hundred million naira only (N500,000,000.00) for community development projects.

Also, the maiden edition of Ayegunle Gbede Day Award Night is scheduled to take place on the 25th December, 2023 at Okedola Conference Hall, Agoh Quarters, Ayegunle Gbede.
