Kogi Poll: We Stand by the Resounding Victory Over Ethnicity – G60 Support Group

A coalition of 60 support groups have expressed gratitude to the people of Kogi state over what it described as “the triumphant victory of the people over ethnicity” in the just concluded governorship election.

It said ethnicity threatened to tear the state apart before the November election, however, the result showed the will of the majority which cuts across the three divides in the state.

In a statement signed by Comrade Dayo Onibiyo and Hajia Aminat Daniya, the group maintained that the state can not afford to be soaked in division, where any part of the state in unfriendly to other sons or daughters of the state, which includes hospitality nature to residents who are not from Kogi state.

The group maintained that a closer look at the result will reveal clear that the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Usman Ododo, has presence in all the 21 local government areas and got votes from all the nooks and crannies of the state.

The group stated that “we happily worked for the success of this election without being paid a kobo, due to our unflinching support and desire for the precious unity of our great state.”

They called on all citizens of the state to settle down to work and move the state forward.

The group commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his commitment to a progressive state and described him as the icon of unity.
