  • Says divisive candidates do not mean well for Kogi and its people.

Amb Oladele Nihi, Director Students Mobilization Directorate for the Kogi APC Campaign Council, has urged students to steer clear of candidates who seek to sow ethnic and religious discord amongst kogites, in pursuit of their political ambitions.

Speaking at the interactive session at Idrinana auditorium in Lokoja on Friday, Nihi emphasized that electing candidates who are given to fanning the embers of disunity and sectional agenda as governor could severely impede Kogi’s progress and the well-being of its people.

The Director expressed absolute confidence in the Ododo/Joel candidacy and their ability to build upon the incumbent governor’s impressive track record, particularly in regards to student empowerment and the inclusion of young persons in governance.

Urging the students to throw their electoral weight behind the APC party candidates, he stated, “We’re at a crossroad where ethnic and religious sentiments should not be prioritized over the majority interests. As students, we must make a difference. Come November 11th, Vote APC, protect your vote, make it count”.

He stressed that merely showing support on social media was not sufficient.

The interactive session organized by Kogi Comrades Community in lieu with the APC Directorate of Students mobilization also had in attendance government officials.

Chief of Staff, Pharm Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku, who represented the governor, applauded the strategic collaborative efforts towards ensuring the party’s victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial election slated for November 11th.

Also in attendance were Commissioners for Water Resources; Special Adviser to the governor on Humanitarian Affairs; other government officials; youth and student leaders; amongst others.
