As Muslim Ummah in Kogi State join other Muslims worldwide to celebrate Eid Al-Adha, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, has assured people of the state of a better future.

Ajaka stated this in his congratulatory message to Muslims on the occasion of the most-celebrated Islamic festival.

The statement read in part: “On this auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, I have the pleasure of conveying my warmest greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Kogi State and beyond. The Holy Festival symbolizes redemption, sacrifice, forgiveness, altruism and love.

“In the spirit of Eid-ul-Adha, Muslims should imbibe the injunctions of Prophet Muhammed (SAW), which teach humility, gratitude and charity towards one another.

“The sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim which we celebrate, must spur us on to sacrifice for the progress and prosperity of Kogi State and Nigeria. Sacrificing for our state and country means giving our best in our various areas of endeavour.

“Fellow citizens of Kogi State, let’s celebrate this Holy Festival with optimism and unflinching hope that a better tomorrow awaits the Confluence State.

“Let’s take the opportunity of this Holy occasion to pray for Kogi State and Nigeria to overcome the current security and economic crises.

“May the spirit of Eid-ul-Adha, with its message of solidarity and unity, bring prosperity, success and happiness to all of us.

“As you are aware, I have put myself forward for the office of the Governor of Kogi State. I want to serve our people and take the state to higher heights. I seek the support of all men and women of goodwill. Let us work together to effectively and efficiently deliver services to our people and safeguard their lives and livelihoods. It is a duty we owe our state and our people.”
