In our first episode of Senator Dino Melaye’s numerous achievements as a senator representing Kogi West, we discussed extensively the primary obligations of a Nigerian lawmaker and how Melaye had been able to meet up with these onuses; ofcourse, we talked about the numerous motions and bills he had moved and sponsored at the red chamber and how these motions and bills have transformed to laws that have had impacts in the social system and social institutions in Nigeria.
In this episode, we will reel out some of the former Senator’s constituency projects ranging from rural electrification, provision of drinkable water to the people even at the rural areas, construction of blocks of classrooms as well as construction of roads across Kogi West senatorial district. Melaye’s penchant for giving back to his people and his commitment to the welfare of his constituents was obvious that his recall from the senate orchestrated by his then political foe was rejected by the people of his district despite the humongous amount of money expended on the fruitless exercise; this is a testament to his lovable characters and his integrity.
