The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council, has decried the deplorable state of Ganaja road in Lokoja, the state capital.
The journalists appealed to the state government to either call the attention of the federal government to the road or carry out palliative work to reduce the suffering of motorists plying the road.
This was made known in a communiqué issued at the end of its congress in Lokoja on Thursday.
Congress in session chaired by Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh also appealed to Kogi state government to restore water supply to Lokoja metropolis and its environs.
Kogi NUJ expressed appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello for giving attention to media practitioners in the state and appealed for more, particularly restoration of weigh-in allowance for state media workers.
On the November 11th governorship election in Kogi state, members were charged to be professional in their conduct before during and after the election.
Congress in session advised political actors the state to play the game according to the rule and avoid causing disaffection and ethnic division, capable of truncating the existing peace of the state.
