The Executive Chairman of Adavi local government council, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami has been inducted as a fellow of security/forensic by Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria.

The council chairman also obtained certificates in peace and reconciliation, accounting and auditing from the same institution.

The induction and award took place during the 2021 mid-year international summit for forensic practitioners on Saturday at Nigeria National Merit Award House, Abuja.

Omuya, who was also a guest of honor at the event, commended Governor Yahaya Bello for tackling insecurity related issues head-on across Kogi state.

He emphasised all twenty one council chairmen in the state are working the Governor’s template to ensure security of lives of property in their respective local governments.

He expressed satisfaction with the papers presented by various guest speakers at the event and the institution to spread the event across the 774 local governments in Nigeria.

“What we learned today is of no doubt beneficial and will go a long way to help us individually, but I implore the institution to extend this gesture to the grassroots. As we all know, if the local governments are safe, the states will be safe, and if the states are safe, the nation is safe. In a simple term, it will help in curbing the security challenges facing our nation.

“I can equally assure you that my own governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who knows the importance of security and have done exceptionally well in that area will welcome the idea for the betterment of our country, And, of course, my colleagues across the other twenty local governments will definitely accept it with both arms,” he said.
