Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) Catholic Diocese of Lokoja, has called on Kogi lawmakers to reflect on their two years in office with the view of properly planning the remaining two legislative years for better results.
This was contained in the message of the commission on her weekly radio advocacy and sensitization programme held on grace 95.5FM on Wednesday.
Guests on the program, Comrade Idris Miliki Abdul of Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR) and Success Adejoh Sunday of JDPC Lokoja identified poor oversight functions, non functional constituency offices, ineffective public hearing and non conduct of constituency briefings as some of the key challenges of the current legislative assembly in Kogi state.
They, however, commended the lawmakers for some of the public hearing conducted on some bills.
They called on lawmakers to reflect on the fact that no position is permanent as every opportunity to represent the people should be used for the good of the people.
Callers on the program stated that Kogi people are more than ready to weed out any non performing elected public officials in subsequent elections.
