This is a wake up call to save humanity.

In any society where standard education regress, there is likely to be poverty, unemployment and other social vices.

The story of a very young teenager I came across two days ago carrying out a menial job which is above his natural strength triggered my interest to make this call.

I  noticed that the boy was not doing the job with joy. His effort was much with sweat all over his body but the results he got pierced my heart and broke me apart seeing such a little boy in that manner of job when his mates whose parents are well to do are at the comfort of their homes. I was provoked and walked closer to him – I asked what pushed him into this manner of job and he replied, “Sir thanks for your concern, my NECO is fast approaching and the pressure to raise money to pay is really taken a toll on my parents. They don’t have neither do I have anyone to help.”

I was touched because I thought this is the same money we see others spending lavishly on their wards while some of them keep saving billions for the future of their own children.

From December till now, I saw a lot of Igala rich men, woman and other well-to-do citizens of Kogi state traveling abroad with their children for holidays, others are still spending lavishly to celebrate birthdays and golden jubilee. You are using your resources to develop another man’s country in the name of making life fun for your own biological children, meanwhile. many children are out there in your country struggling to feed or even go to school.

Why not develop them? The N100,000 naira you pay just to play games or dance in a club is enough to pay two people’s school fees at the tertiary institution. The millions you pay for temporary accommodation in overseas during your long holiday can pay school fees of reasonable number of people.

If you are touched, help someone obtain a primary school certificate, WAEC results or a degree.

It is January again. Primary, secondary and most tertiary institutions are resuming. As children are set to return to school, the pressure to pay school fees and settle bills is huge. Many have no means and so many got admission to higher institutions with no hope to pay for registration.

It is also a period when secondary schools resume with payment for WAEC, or to talk about the innumerable nursery and primary school pupils whom hope is in shambles. This is our responsibility as good citizen of Kogi state. Let’s stand up to it.

Although, we all complain of societal ills around us, we are all afraid of the length which the incident of social vices is growing on daily basis without taking into account the causes of this problem. Security, they said, is an issue of concern for all. I want us to take service to humanity and building education of Nigerian students as matter of urgency to curtail antisocial incidents in our state. Hence it is not enough to develop your own immediate children but important you take the children of other people within your reach as your own children because the kind of people they grow to become will affect everyone in the same region.

Today, I am challenging you to join forces with me. Let’s raise the children of the poor masses under a single umbrella. I challenge you to take responsibility of as much children whom you have the financial strength to pay their school fees and let the whole world know.

It is best we spend for the sake of humanity than traveling abroad to celebrate holidays, birthdays, golden jubilee and lots more of ungodly incidence for the sake of fun.

My door is open to welcome like mind into this struggle.
