Senior Special Assistant to Kogi state Governor on Political Matters (Yagba Federal Constituency), Hon Tade Oshaloto has hailed Saturday local government elections, describing the process as rancour free.
In a statement issued in Lokoja on Sunday, Oshaloto said it must be acknowledged that the rancour free local government election is owed to the ingenuity of Governor Yahaya Bello.
He said the rare capacity displayed by Gov Bello need to be replicated across the nation.
Oshaloto congratulated the chairmen-elect and other elected council officers of the three local government areas of Yagba land of their victory at the polls.
He also congratulated the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the clean sweep.
“I thank APC Yagba and every loyal member of our great party for their roles in successfully convincing the grassroots on the imperative of an APC led local government.
“Let us keep in mind that this victory, significant as it is, is just a step in the long and arduous journey of making governance visible at the grassroots.
“Yagba Land belongs to all of us. Each one of us – including those whose desires to serve have been deferred by the electorate through the ballot – must continue give our best. A new season has dawned on us. May we find the strength to make the most of it,” he said.
Oshaloto enjoined the people to take ownership of the governance process, give all necessary support and ensure all elected leaders succeed.
