In the mood of Christmas celebration, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni has distributed hundreds of bags of rice to Christians through the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The lawmaker who has remained eternally grateful to his Christian constituents argued that it is wise to channel the rice distribution through the Christian Association as a result of their ability to adequately identify those who are in dire need of it.
Senator Oseni had earlier in his Christmas message to his constituents and Nigeria at large noted that the season calls for deepened brotherhood and worship to Almighty God who in his infinite mercy spared our lives to witness end of the year amidst turbulent life occurrences.
“Indeed, this day which marks the birth of our Great Prophet Jesus Christ; exemplifies love, sacrifice, service to humanity and deep reflection on our worship to God.
“It is indeed a wonderful privilege for God to have spared our lives to witness this season.
“However, I urge you all to remember the reason for the season. The joy of brightening other people’s lives, bearing each others’ burdens, easing others’ loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts are some of the gestures that could leave permanent positive impact during the season and beyond,” the lawmaker admonished.
While urging his constituents and particularly the Christians to celebrate within the precinct of the tenets of Christianity, Senator Oseni further enjoined them to pray for the leadership of this country and Kogi State in particular for God to grant them divine health and wisdom in order to consolidate on their achievements in the various sectors of the economy.
