Deputy Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November election, Hon. Sam Aro has assured the civil servants in Kogi State of improved welfare and due recognition under Engr. Musa Wada’s administration.
He pleaded with the workers in the state to mobilize the electorate to cast their votes for PDP on Nov. 16, saying the worthwhile effort will mark the beginning of their emancipation and “total liberation from the Pharaoh occupying Lugard House”.
Speaking after the campaign flag-off in Lokoja, Aro sympathized with workers and people of Kogi State over the deaths of civil servants, pensioners and several individuals who lost their lives as a result of the pains, hunger, deprivation and hardship unleashed on the people as a result of the prolonged workers screening exercise and nonpayment of salaries for months by the Governor Yahaya Bello-led APC administration.
Aro, who is also a labour relations expert, said government actions that denied labour its wages for months is evil, against humanity and a gross violation of labour laws.
He cautioned the people of Kogi State, especially workers, not to fall into Bello/APC’s deception of ‘Lets do More’ as this simply implies more hardship and pains for the people, describing such as suicidal.
He assured workers in the state of better days as workers welfare will top the priority of Wada’s administration. He enjoined the civil servants and teachers to support the PDP.
