I give kudos to Governor Yahaya Bello (GYB) and the New Direction government for permanently changing the narratives of the Omi Dam Agricultural revolution as it relates to us in Okun land.

The humongous opportunities for economic emancipation it reserves has been grossly untapped and which hitherto had only been identified and utilized by agriculturists from outside Kogi state.

For the benefit of doubt, the largest fish farmer at Omi prior to this time was not an Okun man and the vegetable farms were owned by the Hausas. Rice farming was probably in subsistence and not of commercial value and the whole agricultural potentials a waste in terms of revenue and economic development to Okun land as foreigners carted away our  resources smiling to the banks while we remain oblivious of the fact that we were sitting on enormous wealth.

It was virtually our economic loss prior to this time but thank God we have taken ownership and control of our resources to the betterment of our people and economy.

Rather thank making a mockery of the noble project I wish we can see something good and worth commendation.

Government may not be good all the time but on this, Okun must show gratitude. It is a well thought and well implemented project. Okun agbe a oo.
