Stakeholders of the Kogi state chapter of Social Democratic Party (SDP) will meet in Lokoja on Wednesday to deliberate on the party’s plan to win November 16 governorship election in the state.
In a chat with Kogireports on Sunday, a chieftain of the party, Hon, Sani Idakwo Philips stated that SDP is poised to spring surprises at the polls.
He explained that the meeting of the critical stakeholders of the party will review performance of SDP in the just concluded general elections and plans for the upcoming governorship elections.
Idakwo hinted that top politicians from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have indicated interest in joining SDP. He predicted that the governorship primary election for SDP ticket will be keenly contested by credible and time tested aspirants.
He assured supporters of the commitment of leaders and stakeholders to the progress of the party.
