In his democracy day message, Hon. Wemi Jones (FCIB) congratulated Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal constituency and Nigeria as a whole, for the uninterrupted growth of democratic system of government, which is already twenty years.
He further admonished the constituents to be of good hope for substantial and sustainable development in the years ahead.
However, he emphasized that its not how far but how well we go in unity and peace.
He was quoted to have said that; “democracy will only be what we make it to be for us. Therefore, for the labour of our heroes past not to be in vain, both the leadership at all levels and the followers need a value shift that envisions sustainable nation building.”
Wemi Jones, who is of great character, vision and knowledge in economic growth and community development also reflected on the struggle for Nigeria’s democracy, where we are and where we ought to be.
In conclusion, he expressed his unwavering belief in the greatness of Okun land and the emerging beauty through equity and justice.
