It is no longer news that President Muhammadu Buhari missed his step during his campaign visit to Lokoja on the 17th of January 2019 while the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo’s chopper crash landed during his visit to Kabba, Kogi state on the 2nd of February 2019.
I have wondered for days what could be the cause of the missed step and the helicopter crash, as it is believed to be an omen when one misses his/her step or get involved in an accident while on a visit. Is it that the Kogites have totally rejected APC rule?
After so many days of thinking, just then do I realise it was the handiwork of the innocent Nigerians whose souls had been harshly sent to their early graves by the happenings and the unfriendly economy of our country as a result of the incompetency of the tillers of our national affairs, Kogi state vaguely.
With my conclusion, one will be compelled to ascertain why the Kogi chapter of the dead welcomed the President and the second in command with their unusual igbaju oloyi (a Yoruba form of slap that makes one feel dizzy) and an incident of crash land respectively.
It is important to note that the last time the duo visited the state was during the buildup to the 2015 general elections when they came as candidates soliciting for the Kogites’ vote thus promised to CHANGE Nigeria like a demi god and also promised to revatilise the dormant Ajaokuta steel company which made Kogites vote for them overwhelmingly. Yet they betrayed our trusts while they reciprocated their promises with hardship and hunger.
Worst of all, the duo on different occasions had turned and has continued to turn a deaf ear to the plights of Nigerians and Kogites precisely to the evil activities, non payment of salaries and the inhumane governing style of Governor Yahaya Bello.
These are justifiable reasons why our dead welcomed the president and the vice president with igbaju oloyi that prompted the missed step and the incident that resulted to the recent crash land of the vice president. They are not to be blamed and also, they mean no harm whatsoever it is just their form of warning.
