As the NextLevel Movement cum All Progressives Congress (APC) rigorous grassroots, one on one, house to house, ward to ward campaign trains majorly hit the nooks and crannies of Yagba, Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu and Lokoja/Kotonkarfe Federal Constituencies, it is conspicuous that Senator Smart Adeyemi and other candidates of the APC will win all elections in Kogi West Senatorial District in the general elections that will hold two weeks from now.
This position is based on the fact that the people wholeheartedly accepted the APC by expressing genuine trust for Senator Smart Adeyemi, the incumbent State Government Administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and Federal Government Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari by turning out in their numbers to embrace the campaigns as it is brought to their door step.
The people expressed that they have a foundational love for Adeyemi due to how well he represented them in the National Assembly before now.
Talking about Adeyemi’s numerous achievement for the people, they testified the following;
• Facilitated jobs for hundreds of constituents.
• Distribution of Emergency Vans for hospitals across Kogi State to enhance Health Care Delivery.
• Lobbied for the construction of Kabba – Egbe – Omu Aran – Ilorin road which was started and stopped at Aiyetoro because of the incumbent misrepresentation we are suffering in Kogi West.
• Distribution of almost 500 vehicles/cars to constituents for commercial purposes and personal use.
• Medical attention to hundreds of aged constituents.
• Scholarship of over #11m to Okun Students.
• Responsible legislation for the masses.
• Provision of transformer for accurate power supply for the people.
• Accessibility, which gave room for uncountable personal assistance to uncountable constituents, amongst others.
The people are also aware of how tough he fought responsibly that the Federal University be brought to Okun Land to enhance our economy and fast track our development, but ditched by the Gov. Ibrahim Idris administration.
While responding to the NextLevel and APC slogan, the people expressed dissatisfaction over the misrepresentation of Senator Dino Melaye, saying that if not for the Buhari 2015 tsunami, someone like Melaye can never represent us at the red chambers. They faulted Melaye that because of his misconducts, dirty and irresponsible fight against the Federal Government, verbal assaults to co-Senators; he has succeeded in creating a great gap between the Federal Government and Kogi West, save for the intervention of Gov. Yahaya Bello.
It is also worrisome to the people that Melaye’s conduct is unlike that of Okun norms, culture and tradition.
They however, expressed confidence in Adeyemi’s leadership style as they are sure he will not only responsibly represent them, but be a pride to, and write a new name for Okun people, Kogi West and Kogites by using his vast experience in journalism, legislative duties and politics to make them recover from the loss of ongoing 4 years of Melaye.
