The Atai Aidoko Ali Continuity Group has appealed to Igala sons and daughters to redeem promises made towards the construction and expansion of Igala House in Anyigba.
In a press statement signed by Idris Yakubu, they said the call became necessary after the group inspected the ongoing building project.
He stated that Aidoko has redeemed his pledge with a donation of one million Naira towards the project.
Idris charged the contractor and handlers of the project to utilise the funds realise judiciously so that there will be no justification for any patriot not to give support towards the success of the sacred house.
The group warned the leadership not to allow politicians with inordinate ambitions to leverage on the progress of work on the site as an opportunity to rail road them selves to power. He frowned at their inability to fulfill communal promises, but want to use the same people to attain power.
He commended the executives of the body for their non-partisan roles, but the determination to place the Igala people in its pride of place among the comity of diverse ethnic nationalities.
“We are not unaware that some candidates of APC in the forthcoming elections to the national assembly have commenced subtle plans to use the Igala House as a campaign strategy. Let them go and redeem their pledges to ensure early completion as it is on record that most, if not all, have not redeemed a dime on their promises.
“If local governments decided to support such laudable projects through their funds, if not diverted, it is nothing new.
“Since the inception of the Kogi State University Anyigba, local governments have been contributing monthly to the funding of the institution, so it is not a new thing.
“Kogi east senator has also contributed to the development of culture and education through payment of N7million scholarship to students of KSU from Kogi East and building of a town hall at the palace of Attah of Igala at Idah,” he noted.
