A one time Executive Chairman of Kogi Local Government Council, Hon. Shaban Ohinoyi Shuaibu has defected from All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Shaban made this known at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja after obtaining nomination form to contest for the Lokoja-Kogi House of Representatives seat.
Speaking with this reporter in a telephone interview, Shaban debunked the allegations that the former Secretary to Kogi State Government under Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, Alhaji Musa Ahmadu had promised him automatic ticket.
According to him: “I have not met with the stakeholders of my party yet, for now I am meeting with my supporters across Kogi and Lokoja to intimate them of my move.
“I have already obtained my nomination form to contest for Kogi-Lokoja federal constituency slot. I decided to dumped APC to my former party based on my own conviction that fairness is with God and He alone gives power to whoever he wish,” he explained.
Shuaibu, fondly called ‘No Case’ by his followers, was a former member of APC reconciliation committee. He is not new to contesting party primaries. The former APC chieftain had contested in 2011 and 2014. Whether he will achieve his aim this time depends on PDP delegates.
