By Yusuf Abubakar.
Senator representing Kogi East, Atai Aidoko Ali has called on Nigerians to learn from the wisdom of prophet Ibrahim as they mark the celebration of the spiritual sacrifice embarked upon by the prophet.
In a press statement issued in Abuja today, Aidoko said without tolerance, perseverance and unity of purpose among the stakeholders of the Nigeria project, the much taunted and usually ascribed expectations may not be realizable.
He urged the people to abide and imbibe the lessons from the humane disposition of prophet Ibrahim for offering to sacrifice his only son Ismael, as directed by the almighty creator.
He advised both Moslems and non-Moslems to demonstrate this singular and important event in the course of their daily interaction with one another.
The senator urged the Moslem brothers not to use the occasion for merry making alone, but to pray for the leadership of this country and all arms of government to strive to toe the line of tolerating one another, persevere and unite for the single purpose of moving the country forward in terms of developments and political stability.
Kogi east senator used the occasion to express great concern on the plight of his people in the state public service mandating them to resort to prayers for God to minister to the minds of our leaders at the state level, so as to reverse the ugly trend of workers welfare who have sacrificed a lot to the political, economic and social development of the state.
Senator Aidoko observed that no country, state or area will grow, no matter the potentials and indices available at its disposal, without recourse to good governance, good leadership and followership devoid of rancour, deceit and misplaced priorities.
He urged the people to be patient with one another no matter the political and tribal differences.
