A front line aspirant seeking to represent the people of Kabba Bunu State Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, John Oniwaye has promised not to let his constituents down if elected.
Oniwaye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), gave the assurances while donating exercise books and other writing materials to some select schools undertaking holiday lesson.
The aspirant who described education as the only legacy that can be bequeathed to the younger generation, promised to place emphasis on laws that would improve teaching and learning.
He appealed to young people to be glued to their books advising that they should not be distracted by things other than acquiring knowledge.
He asked the students to take their studies with the seriousness it deserves.
The aspirant said his gesture aims at complementing the efforts of parents.
He promised making scholarship to indigent and brilliant students part of his constituency project if elected, urging the students to strive for excellence in their academics.
Oniwaye stated confidently that he is set for the primaries of his party, assuring that he is optimistic of winning the party’s ticket and go ahead to win the general election.
