Kogi West League of Professionals, a group of professionals from the Kogi West Senatorial District has thrown its support behind the aspiration of Dr Williams Toyin Akanle, a frontline aspirant seeking to represent the zone at Senate in 2019.
Chairman of the League, Malam Ibrahim Nda Musa who spoke to journalists in Lokoja on Tuesday said Dr. Akanle who is contesting under the platform of the APC remains the best man to replace Senator Dino Melaye who currently represents the Senatorial District in the upper chamber.
Musa said the people of Kogi West needed someone who has character and competence to contribute in making sound laws for the good governance of the nation and also bring development to the people of the district.
He said it was the consensus of leading lights of Kogi West that only serious minded persons with proven records of service such as Dr Akanle should be put forward as ambassadors of the Senatorial District in the 2019 and beyond.
“Never again would we send mediocre representation to the National Assembly, especially the Senate. In 2019, we shall field our best brains; we shall ensure that only people with proven records of achievements and integrity emerge as our leaders,” Musa said.
He said that Kogi West League of Professional was confident that Akanle “will reverse the misfortune that have befallen Kogi West and reposition the zone by way of exploiting its huge human and material potentials to engender the needed growth and development.”
