The African Democratic Congress (ADC) flag bearer in the forthcoming bye election into the House of Representatives, Mohammed Kassim Mabo has flagged off his campaign with a call on voters to resist the temptation of selling their votes.
Speaking in the palace of Ohimege of Koton-Karfe, Alhaji Abdursaq Isa Koto, the ADC flag bearer said that some politicians have concluded plans to buy votes by offering N10,000 cash per voter.
“I know that you will not want to sell your conscience to a peanut, but if they bring money, by all means take it. It is your money. It is part of your salaries which they have refused to pay you in the last two and half years, but vote according to your conscience,” he said.
Mabo promised to complete all projects left behind by late Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril. He said that as a member of late Buba Jibril political family, he was part of every decision on every project embarked upon by the late Buba Jibril.
“As a legislative aide to our late leader and Special Assistant to Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Speaker House of Representatives, I have been part of every project, I know where they are located and what level they are. I promise to ensure their completion within the ten months that I will be at the House of Representatives,” he added.
Also speaking at the campaign ground, the ADC state chairman, Daniel Isah said Mabo is eminently qualified to step in to the big shoe left behind by late Buba Jibril.
“He has be part of every decision make on every project embarked upon by late Buba Jubril and should be given the chance to continue where Late Buba Jibril stopped.”
He also promised the people to pick a candidate from Kogi/ Lokoja Federal Constituency Constituency to represent in the 2019 general election if the party is elected in the bye-election coming up August 11.
