We Have Not Been Neglected by Kogi APC Youth Leader – Bunu Youths

The executive members of Bunu Youth Arise (BYA) in Kabba/Bunu local government of Kogi state have described the recent report that the present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello and Emmanuel Ayo Arewa has neglected the Bunu land as untrue.
It would be recalled that one Barinkin Christopher and Steve PDP, on Kogi online platforms, accused Mr Arewa Emmanuel Ayo, APC Youth Leader whose company handling the Forestry in Kabba/Bunu local government of abandoning the Bunu community in all his activities and empowerment initiatives.
But in a statement, Mr Adebayo Omolade, the Secretary General of Bunu Youth Arise in Kogi said that Barinkin Christopher who claimed to be Bunu representative in Kogi as incompetent to speak for Bunu community in Kogi state.
The group stated that the present All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth leader, Mr Arewa Emmanuel has done much for the people of Bunu land and it should be appreciated instead of accusation.
He said, “Categorically, the Bunu people have not been in any way side-lined in the socio-economic by Arewa Forestry company.
The government is responsible for revenue generation and it the same government that gave Arewa assignment to collect revenue on her behalf which he remits whatever he generates to government and he is entitled to a percentage of what he generates. The percentage serves as his wage for a job done and how he spends his wage/salary is at his own discretion.
The statement also revealed that some members of the Bunu community have benefited greatly from Arewa compared to the former handlers of the Forestry. He listed some of the beneficiaries form Arewa empowerment.
Over (50) fifty students in Bunu land have benefited from Arewa scholarship ranging from primary school and up to tertiary education.
20 bags of cement was donated to Oke-Ibukun-students union as part of their library projects.
One borehole was sink at maternity in kabba, 30% of the people that are benefiting from this borehole are mostly Bunu people even the borehole was extended to the front of chief Olusco’s house who is the leader of kabba/bunu APC.
The sum of N200,000 was given to Oba Kiri through Mr Sunday Agude to tackle insecurity challenges in the area. Another N500,000 was donated to Bunu traditional council for the council through administrator of the local government, Hon. Moses Olorunleke.
In terms of borehole, 3 boreholes would be sited at Taki, Ihale and Oke-offin which by the grace of God commence this week. Also financial assistance have been rendered tirelessly to Bunu indigenes in terms of paying school fees, community development just to mention but a few.
The three cars were given out; one for the Kabba/Bunu APC party secretary, one for APC party loyalties and the third one was given to the party vice chairman who is from Yagba land.
Arewa donated 20 bundles of zinc worth over #200,000 to the chief of staff of Kabba/bunu local government.
He has employed over 20 Bunu sons and daughters who are working with him as staff. Some of the Bunu staff on Arewa Company’s payroll include; Joseph Rufus, Elebiyo Nathaniel Ige, Isenibi, Ibisagba Ayodele Joshua, Ayodele Monday, Olorunyomi Johnson, Hassan Noah, Durotoye Sesan, James Tossing Paul, Eseyin Temitope, Sunday Agode, Olorunleke John (chairman’s brother) and Juwon Olu Obafemi.
We urge all to let’s work together for the betterment of our people of Kogi state and let’s embrace peace within Kabba/Bunu local government.
