House of Assembly aspirant, Ishaq Asuku Iliyas has commended members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adavi Eba ward for the peaceful conduct of the party congress.
The exercise, which was held today across the 21 local governments in Kogi state, led to the emergence of ward executive members from each ward of the state.
At Adavi Eba ward, the 27-member executive for the party in the ward were elected in a peaceful manner. Checks conducted across wards where the exercise took place revealed that it was characterised by orderliness and proper coordination by the leadership of the party.
In his acceptance speech, Adoke Hakeem said the executives would go to all the nooks and cranny of the ward to mobilise the people to vote for the party in the 2019 general elections to ensure change. He also pledged that the new executives would not betray the confidence reposed in them.
Speaking on the successful congress, Ishaq Asuku Ilyas (aka RichMan) reiterated the need for due adherence to process of internal democracy by APC.
He stated that election is not a do or die affair, that congress ought to be conducted as stipulated by the party guidelines and to ensure that internal democratic structure is preserved.
He assured the people of the party’s readiness to reposition Kogi State in line with the new direction administration led by Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello.
He assured that the party would do everything necessary to reconcile the aggrieved members, insisting that there is no division in the party.
He congratulated all the new executives and charged them to fly the party flag high come 2019 and not to allow detractors deter them from doing what is right. He urged them to open the party doors as more people in Adavi will join the APC.
