Omo Oba Victor Adekunle David Dada is an aspirant for the Kogi State House of Assembly, Yagba West Constituency on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Adekunle voluntarily resigned  from the employment of the Local Government service in year 2002 out of passion for independence and entrepreneurial development. He then ventured into business and the work of Ministry. In the year 2008 he was appointed special assistant to Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris on Social Development. After the general election in 2011 he was appointed by Hon. Karimi Sunday Steve as personal assistant. The position which he held till date.
He is a Christian worker at the Redeemed Christian Church of God. A committed, loyal and dedicated young man who strongly believes in service to humanity.
Below are excerpts from his declaration statement:
Yagba West constituency is a fantastic one and it is my dream to make it better by adequately representing the diverse interests of the people. Every community in Yagba West Constituency is important, from the biggest to the smallest. Hence, I will work hard to deliver the dividends of democracy to every constituent. This I intend to do by embarking on projects that will be of common interest to the whole of the Constituency and its environs. Such as health and education based projects. I will also be involved in organizing entrepreneurial training for our youths, which I believe will help reduce the rate of unemployment in the constituency.
It is my belief that, my experience and exposure as a legislative aide would be of great advantage in representing the good people of Yagba West, at the Kogi State House of Assembly. Working as a legislative aide for more than 6 years, can be likened to going to acquire a legislative knowledge through an in- formal means. My years of sojourn at the National Assembly as a serving legislative aide, under the tutelage of ranking Hon. Karimi Sunday Steve has exposed me to legislative duties and functions. It is not in doubt that Hon. Karimi Sunday Steve was, and is one of the most vibrant legislators of 7th and 8th Assembly, considering the numbers of bills and motions credited to him and in term of his performance in the constituency.
I want to therefore humbly state that, i am seeking for an opportunity to replicate what i have seen and learnt in the National Assembly, at the State Assembly if given the opportunity to represent my people.
My desire to contest as a Member of Kogi State House of Assembly is born out of a few reasons. First and foremost,  I am convinced that i am well equipped to adequately represent the people of  Yagba West at the State Assembly because of the passion I have for my people. Secondly, I want to go to the House of Assembly to replicate everything i have learnt in the cause of my working in the National Assembly in my home State. It is in view of the foregoing that I strongly solicit for the opportunity to represent my people. Together we can achieve greatness.  A vote for me is a vote for development, a vote for me is a vote for hope, fairness, equal opportunity and justice.
Besides, it is a general belief across Yagba West that it is the turn of Oke-Egbe to produce the next House of Assembly Member to represent us at the State Assembly. It will interest you to know that since return to democracy in 1999 my unit, ward (002 Oke- Egbe) is yet to produce an assembly member. The last assembly produced by Oke- Egbe side was from ward 001 Oke- Egbe.
Having had opportunities to serve as a legislative aide in the national assembly in the past few years i have gathered knowledge and experience in the legislative process that will enhance my performance as a state legislator. Experience they say is the best teacher.
My mission is therefore to go to Kogi State house of assembly and be part of the move that will reposition Kogi State through law making and policies formulation.
I will adequately represent the interest of my people at the State Assembly in the areas of law makin, lobbying, constituency projects, oversight functions and in other areas.
My vision is to put the people of Yagba West before politics. I will fight to improve the education of our children. I will be available to listen to people’s problem and concerns, and will advocate for a way to assist. I will work in conjunction with other members to alleviate the suffering of the pensioners to ensure dignity of life after retirement. I will be open, transparent and listen to the concerns of the people and ensure evidence based infrastructures. These are why i want to contest for Kogi State House of Assembly 2019, Yagba West constituency on the platform of our great party, People’s  Democratic Party (PDP) and win by the grace of God, through the support of our party leaders, stakeholders, party members and the support of YAGBA west local government people as a whole.
One of the key areas where I intend to advocate for reforms through bills and motions are Kogi State Civil Service Reform Law: a bill seeking to put an end to the persistent screening exercise in Kogi State civil service system, this bill among other things will put an end to the plight of Kogi State workers, both at the state and local government level. The bill will reduce to barest minimum the manipulation being carried out by the civil servants on their files and documents in the office, workers will find it difficult to change information on their files and documents. Finally this bill when passed into law will help the government to have accurate knowledge of state work force. Other key areas are Kogi Education Reform Bill, Amendment of Kogi State Forestry Law, improved Kogi State IGR,  protect our forest, and to encourage forestry business men and women. Amendment of Kogi State town planning act is another area i am focusing,  to change the face Kogi State, through this we can attract investors and other Nigerians to seek abode in our State. These are few out of many bills and motions i have conceived to sponsor if given opportunity to represent my local government at the state assembly.
Because a state legislator does not control allocation or fund apart from his salary and other allowances accruing to his office, a legislature is therefore left with the option of lobbying the executive arm of the government in order to attract projects, appointment and other things to his constituency. I will therefore strive to have good and robust relationship with the executive arm of the government in order to attract dividend of democracy to my local government.
Seeking jobs for my constituents will be one of my primary focuses as a legislator. This I had learnt under my boss (Hon. Karimi Sunday Steve) as a legislative aide.  I had been on errand to several offices both in and out the Federal Capital Territory in search of job for people under the authority of my boss. This is one of the thing i intend to continue doing if given opportunity to serve the good people of Yagba West in the State Assembly. In furtherance to this, I will extend my working relationship with the senior legislators at the National Assembly in order to secure job and other opportunities for my constituents.
Apart from my involvement in law making and policy formulation, i will also embark on some constituency projects within my capacity as a state legislator. The projects i intend to embark upon will among other things include Vocational studies, Loan scheme, Youth and women empowerment programmes, Providing livelihood support for the less  privilege, among others.
I will on constant basis brief my constituency about the development at the State level as the need arises. Where necessary, emergency briefing would be organized.
