Senator Ogembe Set Up Committee to Look Into Destruction of Properties in Kogi

The Senator representing Kogi Central senatorial district of Kogi State, Senator Ahmed Ogembe has set up a committee to look into destruction of properties by some political thugs.
Some political thugs during an empowerment programme organised by the Senator some months ago attacked houses of some members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) destroying properties worth severally millions of naira.
The senator, who is a member of the PDP, during the weekend visited some party members that were attacked by some political thugs in Kogi Central.
Addressing his supporters at Obehira in Okene local government council of the state after his visit to the troubled areas stressed that he has set up the committee to visit and assess level of damages to their properties so as to provide palliatives to the affected persons.
He noted that the ugly incident which was perpetuated by some people in the area will not help them to win election in 2019.
According to him the era of political thuggery in the state is gone and the only way any politician can win election is to perform, bring dividends of democracy to the people who elected them and to appeal to the people based on their antecedents.
He assured the people of Kogi central that he will continue to do his best adding that no amount of threat, intimidation and attack from any quarter will stop him from bringing development to the senatorial district.
The Senator particularly call on the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to provide a level playing field for all parties, saying that they are beneficiary of transparent, credible, fair and free election.
He advised the people to always maintain law and order, saying that they should remain supportive of the PDP and not be intimidated by any one.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the Federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari to provide adequate security for the citizens before, during and after the election.
