ANKPA: Hon. Ahmed Mohammed Brokers Peace Between Waring Communities

Worried by the age long crisis which has kept families at each others jugular, the Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Ankpa 1 State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has mediated peace among the people of Ojiapata Community in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The lawmaker who received reports of clashes over land related issues last week immediately began moves to restore peace among the people by bringing the warring factions together to discuss peace.
The conflict was between Ojiapata and Emekutu land owners.
According to Hon. Ahmed, separate meetings were held in Ojiapata-Ankpa and Governors Lodge on Friday and Saturday where gray areas were amicably addressed.
Ahmed appreciated the youths, elders and community leaders who attended meetings at short notice.
“Despite the urgency, I wish to appreciate the youth, elders and community heads who attended our meetings despite the short notice, it shows that we are all eager to see this crisis come to an end,” he said.
While urging the people to always strive to build legacies of peace and unity, the lawmaker expressed a strong belief that the peace brokered will stand the test of time for the sake of generations yet unborn.
Prominent at the meetings was the acting Ejeh Ankpa, the Chief Imam of Ankpa Central Mosque, Alh. Seidu Odoma, Onu Emekutu, Onu Ododo, Youth groups, security agencies among others.
