Kogi SDGs Witnessed Poor Financing in 2017 Fiscal Year, Indebted to Companies – Okara

The Kogi state house of assembly committee on SDGs, Special Duties and Legislative Compliance Sunday 28th January, 2018 held an appraisal session for the year 2017 budget and subsequently opened defense of the year 2018 budget appropriation of the relevant MDA’s at the hallowed chamber of the assembly in Lokoja, the state capital.
The committee which is chaired by Hon Alhaji Alfa Momoh Rabiu has as members of the committee Hon Victor Omofaiye of Ijumu state constituency, Hon Comr Linus Enenche of Olamaboro constituency, Hon Dr Friday Ali of Ofu constituency and Hon Lawi A. T. Ahmed of Okene 1 constituency.
Other members of the committee are Hon Jimoh Omiata of Yagba East, Hon Sunday Shigaba of Bassa constituency, Hon Moses Idoko Ododo of Dekina-Biraidu, Rt Hon Hon Ali Aku of Omala and Alhaji Umar Ibrahim as the committee Clerk.
In his opening remarks, the committee chairman, Hon Alhaji Alfa Momoh Rabiu took time to justify the house convening on a Sunday and further thanked the various government agencies for their cooperation.
In his presentation, the special adviser to the governor on Energy and Power stated that his office was created out of the governor’s office in August, 2017 and hence, proceeded to defense of the 2018 budget before giving room to the Mrs Onimode and Mr Augustine Adewale of the Natural Resources and Mining respectively to make their separate presentations.
Earlier in his presentation, the special adviser to the governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Hon Ahmed Abdulmumin Okara lamented that the agency witnessed poor financing in the 2017 fiscal year and that has made the agency indebted to most of the companies it engaged stressing the need for the house to intervene in attracting and facilitating counterpart funds for the agency.
