The Chairman of the Igalamela-Odolu chapter of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Tahirudeen Yunusa Abdullahi has commended the Chief Administrator of Igalamela-Odolu local government area, Hon. Joseph Baron Okwoli for constructing a befitting secretariat complex for the workers of the local government.
Comrade Tahirudeen gave the commendation while accompanying the Chief Administrator on an inspection visit to the site of the project.
Also in company of the Administrator were the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Rural Development, Hon. Benjamin Amodu and the Secretary to the local government, Hon. Rilwanu Inuwa.
Comrade Tahirudeen described Baron as “a man with concrete knowledge of what the people need”. He also praised him for his close monitoring of the project “which has reflected significantly in the quality of work done by the contractors”, adding that “the project will go a long way in easing the office accommodation problems” in the local government.
Comrade Tahirudeen tasked the workers to be more dedicated to their duties, equally pledged the support of the workers in the area for the New Direction policies and programmes of the Alhaji Yahaya Bello led administration in Kogi state and also called on the governor to look into the plight of some recently cleared and pardoned workers in the local government in terms of payment of salaries.
