The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Professor Ocheni Ikani, has called for proper investigative auditing of financial transactions in both public and private institutions to ensuring accountability and promotes public confidence in government.
He stated this when the board members of association of forensic and investigative auditors of Nigeria visited him, Friday in Abuja.
The minister who said that Nigerian auditors have the capabilities to eliminate corrupt practices charged them to support the efforts of president Muhammadu Buhari`s anti corruption drive.
He said, “ I urge you to support the present administration anti corruption efforts. Because investigative audit helps to promote public performance, and very essentially promotes public confidence in the conduct of affairs of governance and will help to bring corruption to its barest minimum. It remains a foundation for economic growth and recovery.’’
