Kogi East Senate Tussle: Vacation Judge Withdraws from Case

The Federal High Court, Abuja court 10 judge has withdrawn from the the suit filed by Air Marshal Isaac Alfa challenging the victory of Senator Atai Aidoko Ali.
The vacation judge adjourned sine dine‎ and returned the case file for re-assignment to another judge.
Alfa is seeking to be declared the authentic senatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 national assembly election in Kogi East.
The vacation judge stated that the processes, motions, counter motions and request for accelerated hearing by counsels to both parties are beyond his jurisdiction.
At the resumed ‎sitting characterised by the usual legal fireworks and heated debates from the counsels, the judge opined the vacation period ends on Friday, September 8, hence the inability of his court to hear the case after three sitting expressing regrets that the nature of the case does not help issues that borders on Kogi East representation.
He said he is at a cross-road and must be very frugal in the ‎matter relating to Kogi East senate seat, particularly the high profile nature of the case before the court which had already been ruled upon by two higher courts.
